Early Daylight Pune - Part 1

Pune the charming gentle city I like to call the Boston of India. After several years I found myself back on the streets of this cosmopolitan mecca with its charming old bungalows, thriving ethnic cultures and identities, exquisite bakeries and throngs of educated youthful faces. As I stepped away from the Poona Club and headed towards the Camp area, familiar sights and landmarks started to refresh old memories of a time when I too was an excited 21 year old, eager to explore and savor freedom for the first time!

Rooftop Rain Soaked ..

This was not a journey to any exotic location but rather a close observation of the flora and fauna right at home on a rain saturated morning. While the iPhone does not offer a macro option, getting close enough to my subjects allowed me to experience and discover textures, colors, shapes and aromas which otherwise often get missed while observing the bigger picture.

Night walker

Often I go for a run in the late evening into this green oasis called Lodhi Gardens in the heart of the capital city New Delhi. The Mughal era monuments are lit up by sodium vapor lights and turn the stretches of darkness into pockets of bright illumination. As the guards start sounding the whistles indicating the closing of the park, one realizes that runners and sportsmen are welcome to linger on however romantic twosomes need to wind up their cuddling and head to the exits.
